Texas Energy Star Savings
The Texas Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday is coming up May 26-28, 2012. According to the Bellaire Examiner the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has provided an “[e]stimated annual energy and water savings of ENERGY STAR™ appliances versus conventional products…as follows:
- Central Air Conditioners – 14 percent energy savings
- Room/Window Air Conditions – 10 percent energy savings
- Refrigerators – 20 percent energy savings
- Ceiling Fans – 50 percent energy savings
- Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs – 75 percent energy savings
- Clothes Washers – 30 percent energy savings and 50 percent water savings
- Dish Washers – 10 percent energy savings and 12 percent water savings
- Dehumidifiers – 15 percent energy savings
